Skydance Paramount Plans to Cut Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Update
Skydance Paramount plans to start large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, cutting about 2,000 American roles under a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs are a result of the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August with a value of $8.4bn.
Further international job cuts are likely, as the firm planning to disclose complete information in its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.
Prior news stated the company aimed to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs before the start of November.
Until December 2024, the company employed nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond regarding the report.
